Franklin County has a population of one million, 75% Anglo and 25% persons of color. The average household income is $42,000, with 15% living below the poverty line.  In Columbus 19% live below the poverty level, and 40% are persons of color. 45% are single parents and 14% are college graduates. 33% have no faith involvement.  Columbus is the largest town with a population of 694,000. There are 77 United Methodist Churches in Franklin County, 39 of which are in Capitol Area North and 38 of which are in Capitol Area South. demo data
